Very authentic and good Japanese food, I had several Japanese friends in college and this is the place they recommended the most, hadn't gone there since the pandemic started but it was nice to get some of their great food again. The waitress did bring us the wrong appetizer (ordered tofu and got chicken) but everything else was great. Despite the hiccup, would definitely go there again.
Authentic Japanese restaurant in Northern Kentucky, love their menu with a lot of small and large plate options! Can turn this into your own izakaya!
My family and I enjoyed Matsuya very much. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere felt like you were in a small town in Japan. We would eat here again if we traveled to KY again, the food is so authentic!
Wonderful little restaurant! The service is a bit slow but the server was super nice. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. We ordered sushi, salmon cheek appetizer, and tempura soba and all three dishes were fantastic. Really enjoyed this place and the interior was super cute.
Very good. The atmosphere is great. We sat at the bar to watch our sushi get made. The tatami mat seating area is normally for 5 or more people.
Real tiny. Get there early cuz everything closes at 9-9:30. Everything we had was better than I’ve tasted in Washington State fabulous staff. Food was perfectly presented and brought to the table as if you were at some fancy restaurant! Really keen about their menu.
I've discovered my new favorite Japanese restaurant! They offer a wide variety of dishes, many of which I've never tried before. From tiny fish to fluke, there are so many unique options. They even serve an interesting pre-dinner snack made of mushrooms and seaweed. If you want a memorable experience, I highly recommend trying something you've never had before!
This place is a total mom and pop restaurant. It is a little run down, which made me have hope. Those are the best gems. I got a Rainbow roll and the Tonkotsu ramen. Both were excellent. The roll was fresh and prepared well. The ramen was great and the pork was great. It just felt authentic. I’ve never been to Japan but this felt like the owners were from there. I would recommend to anyone. They have a vast menu and it seems like the prices can change based on the season so be aware of that. Great place!
